Pakistan Fashion Week London 2018

Pakistan Fashion Week has been coming to London for the last few years. With major Pakistani designers showcasing their work in the prestigious event, the British are able to see what is available across the world and buy authentic designer work in the comfort of their own town! The show consisted of 3 catwalk shows a day as well as designer stalls where you can speak to and see the designer and their collection. As always, Pakistani Fashion is generally heavy, with lots of attention to detail, however a lot of the pieces seen at the show seemed either too much or too little. The overuse of flowers in the decorations made the whole show seem a bit too overdone and overthought. The catwalk unfortunately didn't go very well, models walking barefoot, no coordination for the final line-up, mix up with the Mic and sadly quality in the pieces was lacking. It seemed as if the models were not well rehearsed or sufficient in carrying many of the outfits on the ramp. Very few pieces stood out from catwalk. The stage design could have been better. Many people leaving between designer's showing their designs on the catwalk in itself says a lot. Lets hope when Pakistan Fashion Week London returns next year, we can expect to see better quality in the designers' collections and a better catwalk, as this year, unfortunately, our expectations have been lowered.
