What a success the Aashni + Co wedding show was. Held at The Dorchester on Park Lane, the show hosted some of South Asia’s finest designer collections as well as hair and makeup and jewellery.

As you walk into the area where the show was held, you were greeted by a magnificent display which transformed the hall entrance into almost a fancy woodland area, with a few models dressed in heavy beautiful outfits. Decorated by Zita Elze, the grand entrance was just a taster of what was inside. This decor was very commendable, lots of effort put in producing fantastic results. (zitaelze.com)

Walking further in and passed this display, you enter the main room filled with high end luxury Asian fashion, the likes of Faraz Manan, SVA Couture, Anju Modi (recently in the limelight for her beautiful pieces for Bajirao Mastani), Manish Malhotra and Sabyasachi Mukherjee to name a few.

Not only were the designs from the designers’ recent collections, they were displayed beautifully, with Sabyasachi’s stall designed with elegant looking wallpaper and Manish Malhotra’s stall decorated with chairs and tables which held the collection very elegantly.

One designer that came to my attention was Akanksha Gajria. Her collection was very simplistic and yet effective. Her beautiful pieces are characterised by the mirror work design and good quality materials.

A personal favourite of all time is Sabyasachi Mukherjee and his stall without a doubt was definitely one to visit, from the decorations, to the outfits, everything exuded elegance. His Banarasi collection that has brought traditional work back into fashion was also to be seen at the stall.
