Burberry is very well known for its traditional tartan theme, with its characteristic styles and trench coats. Recently, Christopher Bailey stepped down as Chief Creative Officer of Burberry. Having celebrated many successes for the brand, Christopher Bailey had managed to merge all of Burberry brands into a single Burberry brand. He was pioneering in the availability of buying collection show pieces as soon as the current fashion show had finished, with collection pieces available to buy in stores straight away.

After Christopher Bailey moved on, Riccardo Tisci was appointed the Chief Creative Officer for Burberry, with no doubt, big shoes to fill. His first collection in this new role, after having worked for other big brands like Givenchy and Versace, was the show at London Fashion Week, the Burberry Spring Summer 2019.

His first collection compromised of very traditional Burberry styles, with many pieces being very wearable rather than being too artistic. The simplicity and theme of Burberry continues to live on with the traditional trench coat designs, formal wear and dresses. Another interesting design was the stage set up, with the moveable walls, which added to the elegance of the collection. Riccardo Tisci definitely has lived up to the name that Christopher Bailey has made. A successful debut and successful show.
